ProfitPlate Privacy Policy

ProfitPlate helps food businesses track ingredient costs, scan invoices, calculate dish margins, and manage account access. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and the choices you have.

Data We Collect

We collect account and app data needed to operate ProfitPlate:

• Email address: used for sign-in, account identification, support, and account management.
• Phone number: used when you choose phone authentication or account verification.
• Usage data: including feature usage, invoice scan counts, subscription status, account creation date, last active date, and app diagnostics needed to maintain and improve the service.
• Invoice images from camera scans: images you choose to capture or upload for invoice scanning so ProfitPlate can extract ingredient names, units, and prices.
• Business data you enter: ingredients, prices, dishes, recipes, sales entries, and calculated margins.

How We Use Data

We use collected data for the following purposes:

• Cost tracking: to store ingredients, prices, dishes, sales, invoice scan results, and margin calculations.
• Analytics: to understand product usage, diagnose errors, monitor limits, and improve app reliability and features.
• Account management: to authenticate users, manage subscriptions, provide support, enforce usage limits, and keep accounts secure.
• Invoice processing: to analyze invoice images and convert them into editable ingredient and price data.

Third-Party Services

ProfitPlate uses trusted third-party services to operate core features:

• Firebase: used for authentication, Firestore database storage, app configuration, and related backend services.
• RevenueCat: used to manage subscriptions, entitlement status, purchases, and purchase restoration.
• AI processing providers: used to analyze invoice images and extract ingredient, price, and unit information. Invoice images may be sent to an AI service only when you choose to scan or upload an invoice.

Camera Permission and Invoice Images

ProfitPlate requests camera access only so you can scan invoices. The camera is not used for advertising, background monitoring, identity verification, or any purpose unrelated to invoice scanning. You can choose not to use camera scanning and may enter data manually.

Data Storage and Retention

Account data, business records, usage counters, and subscription-related status may be stored in Firebase and RevenueCat systems. Invoice images are processed for extraction and are not used to create unrelated profiles. We retain account and business data while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize data that is no longer required for legal, security, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Data Security

We use authentication, access controls, and Firebase security rules designed to restrict user data access to the signed-in account owner and authorized administrators. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.

User Rights

You may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your account data, or information about how your data is used. You may also stop using camera scanning at any time and manage app permissions from your device settings. Subscription cancellation is handled through the app store account or billing provider used for purchase.

Children

ProfitPlate is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, legal requirements, or service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
